GameSir X5 Lite - the version with minimal latency
The GameSir X5 Lite is the telescopic controller for people who want one thing above all else: to play as directly as possible. Whereas the Gamesir 5xS bets on wireless freedom, the 5X Lite instead opts for a fixed USB-C connection. And this is exactly why this version is my preference. After all, you have minimum latency here, no hassle with pairing and just a more direct, tighter input. For emulation, streaming or just serious mobile gaming, this feels instantly better.
We all have a super powerful potential emulator in our pocket, and honestly: it's a shame not to take advantage of it. With the X5 Lite, you can turn your phone into a much more serious handheld setup all at once, without those annoying on-screen controls. And because it works directly via USB-C, everything feels just a bit faster and more stable than with a bluetooth solution.

Why this model is special
The power of the GameSir X5 Lite lies precisely in its simplicity. No battery in the controller itself, no bluetooth pairing, no extra step in between. You click your phone in, plug it in directly and you're done. As a result, this version feels just a bit more direct and serious than the wireless version. Which is also exactly why this is my personal favourite.
Apart from that, it is also just nice and light. The X5 Lite weighs only 135.4 grams, which keeps it pleasant to use and doesn't make it unnecessarily heavy along with your phone. This makes it especially interesting if you want a mobile setup that can easily go with you and doesn't feel bulky.
Also nice is that GameSir didn't skimp on the important stuff with this controller. You still get Hall Effect sticks, a comfortable grip, pass-through charging and the ability to customise the ABXY layout. So the Lite is not just the cheaper version, but mainly the version for people who prefer a fixed, fast connection.

Frequently asked questions
Why should I choose the X5 Lite instead of the 5xS?
If you mainly want the most direct experience possible, the X5 Lite is the more logical choice. The fixed USB-C connection means you have less latency and the input just feels tighter. You'll notice this especially if you're sensitive to latency.
Does the X5 Lite have a battery?
No, and that's exactly the point. It uses power directly from your phone, so you don't need to charge an extra controller. Nice though: you can keep your phone charged in the meantime via pass-through charging.
Does this version have analogue triggers?
No, the X5 Lite uses membrane triggers. So if you are looking for true analogue triggers, this is not the right choice. If you are mainly looking for a fast, light and direct mobile controller, then you are right here.
Does it fit on any phone?
Not on every phone, but on most modern devices with USB-C. The supported length is between 105 and 213 mm. With thick cases, it may be smart to check that everything fits neatly.
Is this suitable for long sessions?
That's fine. Precisely because it is light and does not feel unnecessarily heavy, this is a pleasant controller for longer sessions. Of course, the weight of your phone also plays into that.
